About the project:
Animal Rhymes is a collection of twelve playful and witty poems for children and adults, born from the author’s desire to create a book of original animal-themed rhymes that go beyond the usual infantile clichés. Written for his young daughter, each rhyme is paired with an illustration that adds atmosphere and personality to the story. The book includes a unique bonus – a QR code at the end leading to musical versions of all the rhymes.

 

Brief:
The goal was to create fun and engaging illustrations that match the imaginative tone of the rhymes and appeal to both children and adults. The illustrations needed to have a consistent visual style and be fully prepared for print, visually supporting the originality and timeless character of the book.

 

Process:
The first step was to receive a list of animals featured in the rhymes. Based on that, I created three visual style proposals, from which one was selected as the final direction.

I illustrated the entire book as vectors in Adobe Illustrator to ensure clean lines and flexibility across print formats.

 

Final touches and detailing were completed in Adobe Photoshop, and all artwork was prepared in CMYK color mode for optimal print quality and color fidelity.
