About the project:
Let’s Get Czech Talking is a conversation card game designed to help learners practice English in a fun and relaxed way. The deck covers seven topics – Art & Entertainment, Family & Friends, Traveling, Food & Drinks, Hobbies, Shopping, and Work & Jobs – and encourages players to speak up and interact. Simple visuals enhance clarity and make the cards visually engaging.

Brief:
The goal was to create a set of themed illustrations for each conversation topic that would visually support the content and guide the players. Each of the seven themes included 20 illustrations – they had to be simple, clearly readable, and stylistically consistent with the rest of the game.

Process:
For each topic, I prepared a collection of illustrations that matched the specific questions and themes, helping users navigate and interact with the cards more easily.

I created the artwork in Adobe Illustrator, using clean linework and a single color fill to highlight one part of each image. This simple but effective visual style provided contrast and added appeal, ensuring that the illustrations remained eye-catching and readable at a small scale.

 

Thanks to this approach, the cards gained both visual charm and clarity, supporting the main goal of the game – helping people overcome the fear of speaking in a foreign language.
